While it's not a done deal yet, Augusta State is in a good spot to host regionals in a week's time. Before that they're hoping to play three games in three days this weekend and win a Peach Belt tournament title.
It's something that's alluded the Jags in the past, but that could soon change. No question ASU is the favorite and go in on a roll having won eight in a row. There is one small problem, you see, the convocation center has become a house of horrors for the Jags, they're o and 3 in that building.
"Dip (Metress) talked about it yesterday in practice, he was saying that we're 0 and 3 in there so we have to make a big turn around coming up on Friday. So we're just going in there with the mindset of winning and going hard and playing Augusta St. basketball" said Garret Siler
"Obviously we'll ride Garret and Steve Smith because they're seniors and they've been through the wars, and Ben (Madgen)" said Dip Metress "We're looking forward to getting over there, playing our nine or ten guys and be ready for a long week of basketball, no doubt about that."
Up first for the Jags, a date with Lander, that's tomorrow afternoon at one in aiken. Last year, Dip Metress and the boys were bounced from the tourney in the very first game.
