It's been a whirlwind season for the Silver Bluff Lady Bulldogs. First, they won their ever region title. Soon after though, two players were suspended, leaving the team with just seven healthy players going into the state playoffs.
But despite all that, the team is in the final four of Class 2-A. It's something many never thought they could do with just seven players but the girls have thrived on proving people wrong. And while you may think these girls may be getting tired, think again. They say they have plenty of gas left in the tank.
"We always get a day or two to rest up, keep our legs fresh," says senior guard Shenesa Rankin. "Coach is doing a good job of it and so are we. Just staying off our feet to keep fresh and be ready for tomorrow."
"We can rest after March 7th," says head coach Andrew McKenzie. "And only having 7 players, they know their philosophy has to be to work harder than everyone else."
Saturday's game against Marion will be their first playoff game away from home. It will be played at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
