It was just two years ago when the Cross Creek Razorbacks finished the season with just two wins. But thanks to the hard work and senior leadership, the team is back in the playoffs.
The last time the Razorbacks were in the playoffs was back in 2002. That team didn't go far but this one could. Despite a subpar start, the team never stopped believing in themselves. Now, after a regular-season win over ARC and a runner-up finish at the region tournament, the team is full of confidence.
"As a team, I think we just worked hard and made something out of nothing," said senior Jahmal Saleem. "We just kept working hard cause we believed when no one else would believe in us."
"The feeling has been good and I'm happy for these guys," said head coach Tracey Gamble. "Despite working hard in past years, the success just hasn't been there. So to see these guys at a level where they are getting some recognition and having some success, I'm happy for the kids."
Thanks to their runner-up finish in the region title, the Razorbacks will begin the playoff with a home game. The first round game will take place Saturday at 7 p.m. against Stockbridge.
