Jags and Pacers both fall in national poll

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta State men’s basketball squad slipped three spots Tuesday in the national rankings, landing at No. 7 in the ninth NABC poll of the regular season.

With the ranking, ASU has now appeared in the top 10 of the national poll for a school-record 13 consecutive weeks, dating back to last season, and has been ranked among the top 25 for a school-record 29 consecutive weeks, dating back to the 2006-07 campaign.

The Jags posted a 2-1 record last week, falling 78-74 loss at 10th-ranked USC Aiken on Monday, Jan. 19 before bouncing back with double-digit wins over Francis Marion and Georgia Southwestern.

ASU earned the highest ranking in school history on Tuesday, Dec. 9 when the Jags moved up to No. 3 in the nation.

Meanwhile USC Aiken falls from 10th to 14th in the latest rankings. The Pacers went two and one on the week including a win over ASU. They're next in action Wednesday night when they take on UNC Pembroke. -
