ASU's Garret Siler named player of the week

AUGUSTA,Ga--Augusta State center Garret Siler has been named Peach Betl Conference player of the week.

Siler averaged 17.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots per game as fourth-ranked Augusta State went 2-1. His biggest game was in a loss at USCA where he scored 22 points on 6-of-7 shooting with five boards and three blocks.

He returned with 17 points and six boards against Francis Marion and 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks against Georgia Southwestern. The senior hit 18 of 23 shots from the field (.783) and was even better at the free throw line, hitting 17 of 20 (.850).

Siler leads the PBC and is second nationally in field-goal percentage; also ranked in the top five in scoring and rebounding in the PBC and also leads the conference in blocks.
