AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State women’s golf coach Kevin McPherson announced the addition of Julia Stalbro to the Lady Jaguar program on Wednesday.

A freshman from Ahus, Sweden, Stalbro is eligible to join the Lady Jags for the Spring semester. She is a past member of the Swedish National Golf High School and is currently ranked No. 28 in the under-21 age group in her home country. In 2008, Stalbro carded five top-five finishes, including a second-place showing in the Falkenberg Junior Open. She also posted an 11th place-finish in the Swedish Girls Championship.

“Julia is a very strong player who will make an immediate impact on our program,” McPherson said. “She has an excellent work ethic that will serve her well with our current Lady Jaguar golfers. Her addition to the team comes at a great time, leading into our championship season, and gives us some real quality depth.”

The Lady Jags open their 2009 schedule on Feb. 15, 2009 in the Qdoba Collegiate at Don Shula Golf Club in Miami, Fla.
