Augusta, Ga.--In a day an age when negativity rains in the world of sports, comes something totally opposite, even heartwarming. Such is the case today with former North Augustan and Auburn's new baseball coach John Pawlowski making a sizeable donation to M.C.G. this afternoon.

Pawlowski, along with family members presented M.C.G.'s Children's Medical Center a check for 10 thousand dollars in honor of his daughter Mary-Louise, who lives in North Augusta with her mom. A year ago, just before Christmas, Mary-Louise was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and and turned to M.C.G. Pawlowski wanted to do something in return and raised money by running in the New York City marathon and donating was just his way to say thanks to everyone at M.C.G.

"I started the Run Coach, Run event where people would donate money to the run" said John Pawlowski "So I generated some funds through that and through a lot of different benifits and things that people contributed to so it just started to build up and it was our way of trying to help out."

"I've learned a lot about life and a lot about family and how good it is to you in that you always need to keep your family close and I'm glad that I have my family here." said Mary-Louise Pawlowski

The money will be used to purchase a blanket warmer for the pediatric clinic of the hospital.
