Oklahoma State Punter Wins Ray Guy Award

It's still hard to believe there is no punter in the football hall of fame. Can't blame Thomson native Ray Guy, that's for sure. In conjunction with the Greater Augusta Sports Council, they now have a Ray Guy Award for the top college punter.

Wednesday night, Matt Fodge from Oklahoma State picked up the trophy. Fodge averaged just under four punts a game and still averaged 44 plus yards a kick. Fodge was surprised when he heard his name called.

"I was just overwhelmed, just in awe" said winner Matt Fodge "It's just an awesome, awesome experience and awesome opportunity and it's just a lot to take in at one time but it is very cool and I'm just excited about it."
