Augusta, Ga--The clock has pretty much struck midnight as the season officially starts for Augusta State tomorrow night at Christenberry Fieldhouse. One last practice this afternoon as the Jags hope to repeat last year's record setting performance.

Obviously it's not going to be easy. The Jags return three starters, Ben Madgen, Garret Siler and Steve Smith, but lose All Amercian A.J Bowman. Trying to fill in the points lost will be newcomers Fred Brathwaite and Greg Hire. Getting back to the elite eight will be tough as ever since everyone is gunning for them. That in mind, they can't take anybody lightly.

"Like I told our guys yesterday, don't look ahead, because if you look ahead, you're going to look back in misery" said ASU coach Dip Metress "We had that happen a couple of times last year and just cherish this chance to get an opening game. You only get one opening game a year"

"This season we're just ready to take everyone's best shot" said junior Ben Madgen "They're going to be pumped up to play us which is great because that means you can't have an off night. we're going to have to respond to everyone's best shot which is only going to make us better down the stretch."
