Augusta, Ga--While we usually focus on Augusta State basketball and golf, we forget, they actually do play other sports and one of the programs is off to NCAA championships this week, that being the cross country team.

Today, a sendoff party for the Lady Jags and head coach Adam Ward. First time ever for the program as they just finished second in the regionals to qualify for the big stage. While winning is unlikely, the team is hoping to gain valuable experience.

"It's going to be a great chance for us to kind of just develop, learn what we need to do to race at this high and quality of level" said coach Adam Ward "I think we have a good group of girls who can continue to do that. There's no certain set goal, but we just want to make sure we run well."

Ward is the reigning three time coach of the year in the Peach Belt Conference. The NCAA's are in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.
