Augusta, Ga--I know its a no brainer that Augusta is a golf town. But one of the more impressive facets of that is the amount of high school golfers who sign to play big time college golf. One of them did so today with ARC's Clark Palmer inking with North Carolina.
Palmer is actually a lifelong Carolina fan with both his dad and brother having gone to Chapel Hill. He's had an impressive junior golf career and now hopes to take it to the next level on Tobacco Road.
"I felt that at Carolina, I felt like that was home, and that's where I felt the most comfortable for me" said Clark Palmer "The atmosphere and I felt that's where I could take my golf game to the next level. Both coaches, the assistant and head coach are great golfers and both were All-Americans at Carolina and I felt that's where they could help me improve my game the most."
Palmer did admit the Tar Heels being number one in the nation in basketball helped a little. He also said, his dad going there had no influence what so ever in his decision.
