Columbia County, Ga--A million dollars are at stake at Clarks Hill this week with the Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors fishing series. 157 pro anglers and as many co-anglers are trying their luck to land the big fish and the big paycheck.
Similar to the Bassmasters, the FLW series travels the United States. There will be a cut after Friday so only a handfull of guys will be left to fish on Saturday. Conditions are vastly different from the spring event and change day to day. Everyone on Clarks Hill has to make the adjustment.
"The wind played a big part today" said fisherman Kyle Maybrey "It eliminated some of the places I wanted to fish. A little bit of luck may have kicked in but I did catch a big fish off of that place that I caught that one today, in practice. Yesterday I went and hit it and I caught about a six pound catfish."
The final weigh in will be Saturday at the Wal-Mart on Washington Road in Evans
