ATLANTA (AP) -- There will be no offseason shoulder surgery for
Chipper Jones. Tuesday's MRI on Jones' sore right shoulder showed acute tendinitis and also showed the overall structure of the shoulder is
normal for a 36-year-old third baseman, the Atlanta Braves said
Wednesday.

Braves orthopedist Dr. Xavier Duralde has prescribed therapy for
the shoulder, followed by a strength program. Jones won the NL batting title with a .364 average. He had 22 home runs and 75 RBIs but played in only 128 games and was limited to only pinch-hitting duty in the final week of the season.
