MACON, Ga. – Augusta State carded a 315 Wednesday morning in the third and final round of the Eat A Peach Collegiate hosted by Mercer at Idle Hour Club.
With the effort, the Lady Jaguars collected their first victory of the season by 25 shots over runnerup Belmont. Jacksonville State, Austin Peay and High Point rounded out the top five. The tourney win was the first for ASU since April 4, 2006, when the Lady Jags captured the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate.
ASU junior Tamara Lucciouli posted a three-over 75 and recorded the first individual title of her collegiate career. She bested runnerup Chelsea Harris of Austin Peay by three shots.
Luccioli, who entered the final round tied for the lead, was one of three Lady Jaguars to post top-10 finishes. Senior Mary Carmen Betancourt took sixth place at 22-over 238 and senior Emilie Geury was ninth at 25-over 241. Senior Anna Lindeborg notched a final-round 80 and junior Sarah Mooney turned in an 81.
