Augusta, Ga--A few familiar faces in town for Georgia sports fans this evening with the Bulldog club hosting their annual barb-b-q. Coaching great Vince Dooley and baseball's top guy, David Perno on hand.

The duo was out signing autographs and mingling with the red and black faithfull at Julian Smith Casino. Of course seeing coach Dooley back healthy is a big plus, he can also shed a little insight on the pressures of coaching a number one team.

"There's no question it's all about expectations" said former Bulldog coach Vince Dooley "That adds additional pressure but I woulldn't swap at all for the opportunity to be number one and I know this, we're going to be number one for at least a month until somebody (beats us), if it ever happens"

For coach Perno, he's coming off a trip to the College World Series where Greenbrier product Rich Poythress played a big role. No doubt he'll be counted on even more with the departure of Gordon Beckham in the next two years.

"Well, we need another good year out of him, that's going to be crucial for us to keep the momentum and continue to do the things we're continuing to do" said Georgia baseball coach David Perno "Gordon (Beckham) is gone so he's going to have to fill in, probably hit in the three hole but from a leadership standpoint he's going to have to take charge offensively to help us."

Also on hand, Georgia radio guy Loren Smith as the Georgia faithfull are getting ready to bark when the season starts.
