Harlem, Ga--We are quickly closing in on Hoffa-mania as Lakeside product and olympic shotputter Reese Hoffa is set to go for the gold in the next 24 hours. Tonight, qualifying, then tomorrow morning our time, the finals.
If you think Reese is feeling some nerves, how bout his dad, who now lives in Harlem. Not that you can't tell where they live by this humungeous banner in the front yard. The Hoffa's have become local celebrities so to speak in the last couple of weeks, you may remember, Hoffa was adopted when he was three and moved to the Augusta area. Steve, is one proud dad who's probably on pins and needles as much as his son is.
"I haven't really thought about it until the last couple of days as its coming down to the wire now" said Steve Hoffa "Of course we have some friends coming over tonight and tomorrow and I guess I'm more nervous now then anything else. I know how bad he wants it."
This will be Reese's second olympic appearance. He qualified for the games four years ago but never made it to the final round. We'll keep you posted on how he does.
