MACON, Ga. - Following rounds of 6-under-par 64 and even-par 70, reigning Georgia Mid-Amateur champion Jeff Knox of Augusta holds a one-stroke lead over defending champion Harris English of Thomasville and local favorite Russell Henley at the halfway point of the 87th annual Georgia Amateur Championship at Idle Hour Club.

English and Henley, teammates at the University of Georgia, sit at 5-under-par 135. English carded rounds of 66-69, while Henley turned in 67-68. David Noll Jr. of Dalton, the 2003 Georgia Amateur champion, and Dave Womack of McDonough, the 2006 U.S. Mid-Amateur Champion, are tied for fourth at 4-under 136. Womack carded the low score of the second round - a 5-under 65 - to go with his opening 71, while Noll has played steady with rounds of 68-68.

Tim Schaetzel of Atlanta sits alone in sixth at 137 (66-71). Augusta's Josh Gregory and Robert Sheats of Atlanta are tied for seventh at 138. Jack Hall of Sea Island is in ninth place at even-par 140. Seven players are tied for 10th at 1-over 141.

The top six players - Knox, English, Henley, Noll, Womack and Schaetzel - were among the 42 players that had to return to the course Friday morning to complete their first round after a long weather delay prevented the completion of Thursday's round.
