Greenjackets player development agreement with San Francisco Giants extended

It has been an off-season of change for the Augusta Greenjackets.

New owner, new look, but one thing will remain the same.

When Greenjackets go to the big leagues, they will do so as San Francisco Giants.

The Greenjackets announced a 2-year extension of their player development agreement with the Giants Monday.

San Fran's been the parent club since last season, but the deal was set to expire following this year.

The purchase of the team by Ripken Enterprises may have had something to do with the Giants’ willingness to continue the relationship.

The big league team said today that they are "very pleased with the direction the ball club is heading".

For the season opener, the Greenjackets will be heading out of town.

They'll be in Charleston on April 6th.
