Greenjackets One Hit Hickory In Big Win

Augusta, GA – The Augusta GreenJackets (36-26) held the Hickory Crawdads (28-35) to just one hit in a 7-0 win on Saturday night. Starter Craig Clark recorded the win working 6.2 shutout innings while Brock Bond drove in two runs to lead the offense.

Augusta scored all the runs it needed in the first inning plating three runs for a 3-0 lead. Nick Noonan scored the first run when he came in on a passed ball from catcher Ronald Pena. Thomas Neal had an RBI sac-fly and Andrew Davis followed with a two-out RBI single.

Clark (5-0) allowed just one hit, a walk and struck out four in the win while Hickory did not see a single runner reach second base and no runners reach base after the fourth inning. Clark issued a one out walk in the fourth then got a double play to end the inning and then combined with Waldis Joaquin to retire the next 15 in a row to end the game.
