Tour de Georgia cycles through Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga.---The Tour de Georgia bike race is now underway. The first stage is Monday from Tybee Island to Savannah..

Tuesday, the riders from 15 teams will ride from Statesboro to Augusta. That's about a 117 mile trip because they're making a loop through North Augusta before arriving at Augusta Common around mid-afternoon.

There will be special ceremonies and displays there.

Traffic should return to normal by about 4:30 pm Tuesday.

The race ends Sunday in Atlanta.
