Greenjackets Return Home, Start Season Thursday

The Braves had their opening day on Sunday and the Greenjackets, with new manager Andy Skeels, are soon to follow.
Pro baseball returns to augusta on Thursday and fans got their first look at the '08 team Tuesday afternoon.

Once again the team should be built around pitching. Led by the Giants first round pick Madison Bumgarner, the staff should be loaded. They also have a good number of players who won a Northwest League title with Salem Keizer. A lot of these kids are use to winning.

"It definetley makes you more confident" says pitcher Steven Calicutt. "I think we'll pitch the ball really well because most of our pitchers three or four years of college and they played last year in Salem and they won the championship again in Salem."

Jackets open the season thursday at the lake agaisnt Ggreensboro. Only a few tickets remain for the opener as well as Friday and Saturday.
