Augusta State knocked off Alaska Anchorage 56-50 Thursday night in Springfield, Ma. to advance to the National Title game Saturday.

The Jaguars hit their first four shots of the game and rushed out to a 28-11 half time lead. The inside out play of AJ Bowman and Garret Siler dominated the Seawolves and the Jags defense was magnifician in holding Anchorage to just 19% shooting from the field

In the second half, Alaska Anchorage rallied behind several three pointers and would trail 38-35 midway through the half. But that would be as close as they would get. Again, it was the inside play of Siler who scored 12 points in the second half while Bowman wound up with a game high 18 points on 7 of 15 shooting. All the while, holding the Seawolves to just 36% shooting for the game and dominating down low with a 30 to 8 advantage.

Augusta State will now play for the school's first ever National Title on Saturday. That will be a 2:30 PM tip off and the game can be seen on WRDW News 12.
