Augsuta, Ga--We are t-minus three days and counting for the first ever appearance by Augusta State in the Elite Eight. Sunday, travel day for the Jags.

Earlier this afternoon, Augusta State loaded the vans and prepared for the trek to Massachussetts. A mid-day practice then a quick trip home to pack and time to get going. Some of the players, Steve Smith and Daniel Dixon, getting winter hats for the journey to Springfield, remember, most of these guys have never been this far north. A chartered flight from Augusta was awaiting and by now they should be in their hotel in Springfield. An exciting time indeed and now a few of the nerves are starting to kick in.

"We should be pretty relaxed" said All American A.J. Bowman "I mean we have a couple of days to kick back and take things in and come Wednesday by game time we'll be ready to play Augusta State ball."

"Yea, yesterday we were kind of ready to go." added coach Dip Metress "After yesterday's practice I made the comment OK, lets get on the plane and go. We got together this morning, 12 o'clock, get use to playing at this time and they're anxious. Matter of fact this is the first time they're all early."

The Jags will practice Monday and Tuesday, then take to the court against Central Kklahoma Wednesday. Game time, high noon from the birthplace of basketball
