Giants 5 Braves 3

San Francisco salvaged the finale of a three-game series in Atlanta by turning a 3-to-1 deficit into a 5-to-3 win over the Braves Thursday.

Lance Niekro got the Giants within a run with an RBI grounder in the seventh before Randy Winn smacked a two-run homer later in the inning. J.T. Snow capped the scoring with an RBI single in the eighth.

The rally allowed Jason Schmidt to improve to 9-and-6. Schmidt gave up three runs and eight hits over six shaky innings. Tyler Walker notched his 20th save with a hitless ninth.

The loss goes to 8-and-7 Tim Hudson, who was reached for four runs and seven hits while striking out ten in seven innings.
