Augusta State To Host NCAA Tournament, USC Aiken Top Seed

Augsta, Ga--For the second straight year, Augusta State will host the first three rounds of the NCAA Division Two National Tournament. The Jags will take on Johnson C Smith in the first round at Christenberry Fieldhouse on Saturday. USC Aiken is the number one seed and faces Clayton State also Saturday. That's a rematch of the just completed Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The other matchups at ASU are Wingate against Catawba and Virginia Union versus Lenoir Rhyne. A year ago, Wingate knocked off Augusta State in the second round.

For the ladies, Augusta State will hit the road and take on Shaw on Friday. Depsite a stumble in the first round of the conference tournament, the Lady Jags get a five seed and are one of four Peach Belt teams in the tournament. Francis Marion is the host school for the first three rounds. USC Aiken failed to get a birth into the tournament.
