Gamecock cornerback suspended

COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina defensive back Carlos Thomas has been suspended indefinitely from the Gamecock football team for a violation of team rules and team behavior, Head Coach Steve Spurrier announced Tuesday.

Thomas, a 5-11, 192-pounder from College Park, Ga., started seven games at cornerback in 2007 and has made 20 career starts over the past three seasons. He was credited with 17 tackles and six pass breakups in 2007.
