4 local girls teams advance in Georgia

Wednesday was a good night for Augusta girls basketball. Four out of five local teams still alive in the Georgia state playoffs are headed to the quarterfinals.

In 3-A, Glenn Hills overcame a second half deficit to beat Hardaway67-59 and now face Cairo on Saturday at Columbus State University.
The Hephzibah Lady Rebels also advance to Columbus State. The Lady Rebels defeated Southwest Macon Wednesday night 76-73 and will face Kendrick Saturday evening.

In 2-A, Laney is still alive after beating Vidalia 83-66. Led by Glentrice Sapp's 26 points, the Lady Wildcats face Randolh-Clay Friday afternoon at Savannah State University.
The Josey girls also advance with a win against Dodge Co., 66-58. The Lady Eagles take on Savannah Christian at Savannah State Saturday night.

In 1-A, the unlikely run of the Aquinas girls comes to an end with a 64-41 loss at Gordon Lee
