Augusta, Ga-- The Glenn Hills boys advanced to the Class 3-A state quarterfinals Tuesday night by knocking off defending state champs Jordan 52-49. The host Spartans would trail by eight at the half but scored the first 10 points of the third quarter to take the lead.
Jordan though would lead by three at the end of three setting the stage for a furious fourth quarter of action. Both teams went back and forth, but led by seniors Reggie Middleton, Chris Reynolds and Jerel Stephenson, the Spartans would pick up the win. Middleton sank three free throws in the final minute as Jordan's last chances all came up short.
Glenn Hills moves into the quarterfinals Friday night when they travel to Columbus State.
