Augsta, Ga--Behind a 4-2 win on Friday, the Florida Everblades took the season series from the Augusta Lynx four games to three. The Lynx were doomed by one of their worst starts of the year as the Everblades scored three goals in the first five minutes to give them a lead they would never lose. Steve Czech scored just 1:31 into the game with a shot that floated in behind a screened Bobby Goepfert from the point for a 1-0 Florida lead.

Brandon Roach made it 2-0 with a power play goal as he snapped a shot past Goepfert's glove. Then, just five minutes into the game Kirk MacDonald made it 3-0 as he collected a rebound that got loose in behind Goepfert and trickled onto MacDonald's stick for the three goal advantage.

That goal would be the end of Bobby Goepfert's night, as he was replaced by Gerald Coleman. The moved paid off in the first Augusta goal of the night, scored by Adrian Veideman, who had just be sent back to Augusta by Portland e arlier in the day. The lead increased back to three for the Everblades in the 2nd period as Jaret Lukin's shot found it's way through a screened Coleman for a 4-1 lead for the Everblades. The Lynx got the score to within 4-2 with a 5 on 3 power play goal from Bobby Bolt, who smashed home a rebound drive from Eric Lundberg.

However, that would be the closest the Lynx would get. A stiffling Florida defense held the Lynx attack to just four shots in the 3rd period and when the Lynx did manage a few chances, Florida goalie David Shantz was there to shut the door. The loss was the 3rd in a row for the Lynx, who have also dropped three out of their last four home games.
