Pacers and Jags Climb in National Poll

AIKEN, S.C. – Winners of eight-straight games, USC Aiken (21-2, 15-1 PBC) has climbed back into the top five in this week’s NABC/Division II Coaches Poll, released Tuesday afternoon. After wins over Georgia Southwestern and UNC Pembroke, the Pacers are up one spot to fifth, equaling their highest ranking ever.

The only two undefeated teams in Division II stayed at the top of the poll. Bentley (24-0) remained first, gaining six of a possible eight first-place votes and 198 total points. Grand Valley State (28-0) earned the other two first-place votes and is second with 194 points.

Augusta State is up four spots and are now ranked 8th in the Nation. The Jags may be second in the Peach Belt Conference to the Pacers, but should stay number one in the regional rankings when that comes out Wednesday. The Jags are next in action home tomorrow versus Francis Marion, the Pacers are on the road against Lander
