AIKEN, S.C.--Following their weekend sweep of Lynn University, USC Aiken leaped seven spots to 19th in the third in-season release of the Collegiate Baseball Magazine Division II Top 30 poll. Dating back to March 2005, the Pacers had appeared in 48 of the past 50 polls including a streak of 43-straight.

Tampa, the defending Division II National Champions, continue to head up the poll with an 8-0 mark. Mount Olive, Ouachita Baptist, and CSU Chico fill out an unchanged top four while Delta State improved five slots to fifth.

Georgia College & State, Francis Marion, and Armstrong Atlantic State are eight, nine, and 10 this week while Columbus State’s ranking of 15th gives the Peach Belt Conference five teams in the top 20.

After taking the series opener with Lynn on Friday night 9-3, the Pacers needed some late inning heroics to grab a pair of one-run decisions, 9-8 and 7-6, extending their winning streak to four.

USC Aiken will conclude their 11-game homestand to open up the 2008 season this week with a two-game set against Brevard beginning Tuesday night at 6:00 PM at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.
