AIKEN, S.C. – After extending their winning streak to six with two wins last week, USC Aiken (19-2, 13-1 PBC) rose to sixth in this week’s NABC/Division II Coaches Poll, released Tuesday afternoon. The Pacers are up one spot after home victories over Francis Marion and North Georgia.

The only two undefeated teams in Division II stayed at the top of the poll. Bentley (22-0) remained first, gaining six of a possible eight first-place votes and 198 total points. Grand Valley State (26-0) earned the other two first-place votes and was second with 194 points. Winona State remained in third, but a loss by fourth-ranked South Dakota moved the next four teams, Alaska-Anchorage, Northern State, USC Aiken, and Findlay, up one spot. Gannon, Drury, and South Dakota round out the top 10. The Pacers received 162 total votes this week, up from 151.

Reigning PBC Player of the Week Chris Commons scored 29 points in both of the Pacer victories. USCA defeated Francis Marion 77-59 last Wednesday. Along with Commons’ effort, Kingsley Oguchi reached double figures with 15 points, including four three-pointers.

Meanwhile Augusta State also climbs in the poll, up four spots to number 12. The Jags won three games last week and move up four spots in the rankings. Both are on a collision course for a matchup in the conference finals which would be in Aiken.
