Peach Belt Parity

AUGUSTA---While Augusta State and USC Aiken are clearly the class of the Peach Belt Conference on the men's side, the women's standings are a little muddier. Six teams are within two games of the conference lead with Augusta State right in the thick of it.

The lady Jags are 12-5 overall and 6-4 in the conference which puts them just a game and a half behind Lander for the top spot. ASU has won two in a row and 7 of their last 10 and still find themselves in a tie for 4th place. The race for the conference crown will likely come down to the final game.

"I've never seen it like this," said ASU coach Greg Wilson. "Now, this conference has always had a great deal of parity on the womens' side, but I've never seen anything like this."

ASU is next in action on the road at Georgia College and State this Saturday.
