Clemson's Davis To Return To Tigers Football Team

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson's James Davis wants to return to
Davis announced earlier this month he would skip his senior
season and enter the NFL draft. But Tigers athletic spokesman Tim
Bourret says the running back is filing paperwork to return to
The deadline for entering the draft was Tuesday, but players
have 72 hours to change their minds. That means Davis has until
midnight to file his papers.
Davis was projected as a third-round selection. However, Clemson
coach Tommy Bowden had asked Davis to call around to NFL general
managers about his prospects. Apparently, Davis didn't like what he
This year's draft has an impressive group of running backs,
including Arkansas' Darren McFadden, Central Florida's Kevin Smith
and Rutgers' Ray Rice.
