The marathon week for the Augusta Lynx continues tonight with their second straight game against Florida. If last night was any indiciations of things to come, you may want to find your way down to the James Brown Arena.
Augusta tallied seven goals last night in the rout of the Everblades and are now inching closer to second place in the standings. Give a lot of credit to All Star Aaron Slattengren. Two games back since his call up to the A.H.L. he's tallied five goals. That also gives him 26 on the year which is the same amount that led the team a year ago. One more impressive number, he's averaging a goal a game!
"He's one of those guys where the puck just seems to find him." said coach Bob Ferguson. "When he has it, he knows what to do with it. A lot of times your top goal scorer, your top players aren't your hardest workers, they get by on natural talent. Aaron's got both, he's got the knack for scoring goals and if you just watch him he's our hardest working player on both ends of the ice."
Slatts and the rest of the Lynx take on the everblades in about a half hour. They'll finsh out the home stand tomorrow night when Mississippi pays a visit to town.
