ASU's upset bid falls short

ATHENS, Ga---Augusta State proved they can play with anyone in the nation tonight, nearly beating Georgia 81-74. The Jags led most of the game and were paced by sophomore forward Ben Madgen, who poured in four three-pointers on his way to a team-high 21 points. Sophomore point guard Daniel Dixon added 17 points and 6 assists.

Foul trouble for ASU's Garett Siler and AJ Bowman proved the difference down the stretch as Georgia took the lead for good with just over a minute and a half to play. Senior Sundiata Gaines led the Bulldogs with 24 points as UGA moves to 5-1 on the season and Augusta State falls to 4-2.
