AUGUSTA---Augusta State's men's basketball team has been getting plenty of publicity this season and deservedly so, but there are actually other teams on campus.
One of the sleepers is the baseball team which got a huge boost this morning with the news that sophomore Shannon Wilkerson has been cleared by the NCAA to participate in all the Jag's games this season. Wilkerson was second on the team in runs-batted-in as a freshman last season despite playing little more than half the games.
There was a question with the rightfielder's ACT score in high school and he was forced to sit for the second half of the season while it was cleared up. Any questions have since been answered and Wilkerson rejoins a team looking to rebound from a losing peach belt record last season.
