AUGUSTA---If you felt a warm breeze at some point this afternoon, it likely came from the Augusta State basketball offices as the team and coaches let out a collective sigh of relief after holding their breath for the better part of two months. ASU senior forward AJ Bowman has finally been cleared to play after undergoing a procedure back in September to correct a heart condition.

Bowman's status has been up in the air as doctors at first wondered if he would be able to play again and then it became a question of when. The reigning Peach Belt Conference player of the year has been taken off blood-thinning medication this week and will begin full-contact practice this weekend before taking part in the teams' regular season opener next Friday.

With Bowman back on the floor, the Jags return their entire starting lineup from last season and find themselves in the top 10 of several preseason division two polls.
