Masters tournament, ESPN announce new partnership

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Last week we told you about some minor course changes for next year's Masters, now a major tv shakeup for the year's first major. Have no fear, CBS is still the home of the Masters but now ESPN is joining the mix.

Augusta National Chairman Billy Payne annoucning today that tournament coverage on Thursday and Friday of Masters week is switching form USA to ESPN.

The self-proclaimed "Worldwide Leader in Sports" will now be the cable affiliate for the tournament as well as broadcasting on ESPN Deportes.

The times for the television coverage will remain the same; 4 to 7pm Thursday and Friday with a rebroadcast from 8 to 11pm each evening.

“With the worldwide reach of ESPN, and their demonstrated leadership in new media, we think ESPN is uniquely positioned to showcase the Masters and golf to new audiences,” Payne said.
