COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Number Eight Kentucky's perfect start has been spoiled by the one ball coach who knows better than almost anyone how to humble the Wildcats.
Steve Spurrier and 11th-ranked South Carolina beat Kentucky 38-23 tonight as Gamecocks defensive end Eric Norwood tied an NCAA record with two touchdown returns.
South Carolina's defense held Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson
to 227 yards passing, forcing him into two fumbles and an interception.
Spurrier has now won all 15 games he has coached against the Wildcats and put his Gamecocks into the thick of the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division race.
