AUGUSTA, Ga --- The shortage of gas in the area is "driving" many motorists to lose their patience at the pumps, but patience is what it is going to take in order to fill up.

"I've never seen this chaos before, this is the first time I've seen a cop direct traffic before to get into the gas station," says David Srivastava.

There were not one, not two, but three Richmond County deputies handling traffic at the Pilot Gas Station on Riverwatch Parkway.

Several gas stations in the area were out of gas by Thursday evening.

Your newscast (10/2/08) said we could find out what stations had gasoline if we came to this website and clicked on Gas Gauge. I have done that and can find no such list of gas stations. All I can find are prices. I want to know where I can find gas.

The only reason we are having the gas shortage is because people are panicing. They think they have to get gas even if they are not close to empty. If people would just calm down and only get gas when they need it we wouldnt have this problem.

This so called gas shortage is just what the oil companies want. With everyone rushing out to fill up, and gas stations running out, we are creating a false demand, and the oil companies can basically name thier price. Anyone remember the seventies?

how is it that after one hurricane that didn't do much damage leaves the entire southeast dry of any gasoline. Even after Katrina there was gas, it was expensive, but at least we could put gas in our cars. Is ridiculous.
