AUGUSTA, Ga.---A cloudy morning didn't keep people away from the 2008 start! Augusta Heart Walk.
One thousand walkers participated in the three mile walk around the ASU campus. 300 local stroke and heart disease survivors also walked.
It's a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. They're hoping to raise $115,000, which will help with advocacy, research, patient education, and prevention.
"A good feeling because we're all in the same boat, or we know someone that has had heart trouble," said heart disease survivor Sherree Cooper.
Today's walk was about wellness, cardiovascular health, and celebrating with local survivors. News 12 sponsored the Heart Walk, and News 12 This Morning's Tim Strong and Stacey Hilton emceed the event.
