AUGUSTA, Ga.---Heart patients are living longer with a local program. That's the word today from researchers.

They looked at patients with congestive heart failure who took part in an outpatient rehab program and those who did not.

Results show those getting the outpatient care lived longer and had fewer hospital visits.

Experts say University Hospital is the only hospital in the region that offers this outpatient program.

Right now, doctors are treating around 300 patients this way.
