Merriwether student wins district spelling bee
Meg will now represent the Edgefield County School District at the local qualifying round for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

EDGEFIELD CTY., S.C. -- Meg Hoffman, a student from Merriwether Middle School, competed against five other students in the district spelling bee competition and won.

The district spelling bee competition was held on Wednesday.

Meg will now represent the Edgefield County School District at the local qualifying round for the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The round will take place on March 3 at the Morris Auditorium.
