AUGUSTA, Ga.---Since this is July first, some new Georgia laws take effect. One of them is about school choice – House Bill 251.

Parents can now enroll their children in any school in their district that has room. Richmond County parents are getting letters telling them of the chance to transfer. Other school districts are sending out notifications also.

Applications must be completed and returned to your school district no later than July 15, 2009 for the upcoming school year.
