NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- A teacher's harsh words were caught on a cell phone camera as he cursed at students and slammed things in the middle of class. Now an investigation is underway.
It happened this week at Fox Creek High School in North Augusta, and the video is spreading around the school like wildfire.
It's cell phone video that speaks volumes. The video shows Fox Creek High School teacher John Naas visibly upset and saying more than he should.
"This is the final strike, it really is. I've worked d*** hard to get hard to get this f****** place in order and you people don't have any appreciation. Well you ought to sit there and think about it."
Jeff Harrop's daughter Kelsi goes to Fox Creek High School. "I know teachers go through a lot of grief from the students and put up with a lot of stuff, tolerate a lot, but the language is just not right."
News 12 caught up with Fox Creek Principal Dr. Tim Murph at the ground breaking for the new building. We showed him the video and in less than five seconds, here was his reaction. "Well we're still investigating this and so at this time, we have no comment."
Some students like Kelsi Henderson were just as shocked, seeing and hearing the video for the first time. "I think some kids might just push him over the edge and i don't think it's right that he did it, but he just got so pushed that he had to say something."
And say something he did.
Kelsi's father, Harrop, not as understanding. "I wouldn't like to know that he was talking to my kids that way, it's just not right."
Dr. Murph did not say what provoked the teacher, but parents say whatever it was, there's no excuse.
"Kids are gonna be kids and kids do a lot of stupid things they shouldn't but he's supposed to be setting an example for them." adds Harrop.
So on a day that was supposed to be about looking forward, now has school leaders, looking back. "We're still looking into it and it's a personnel matter, so at this time, we have no comment."
And a lesson learned, in a video age you never know who is watching.
Dr. Murph declined to comment any further about what he calls a personnel matter.
