Reactors at Plant Vogtle approved
The NRC has approved the license for the two new nuclear reactors at Plant Vogtle.

BURKE CTY., Ga. – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission voted on the license for the two new reactors at Plant Vogtle and they have been approved.
The reactors to be built in Burke County are the first to be built in the United States in almost 30 years. The expected completion dates are between 2016 and 2017.
The estimated cost of the units is $14 billion. President Barack Obama has offered $8.3 billion in loan guarantees to expand nuclear power.
