New fire chief approved in Richmond Co.
City Administrator Fred Russell recommended James for the job earlier this month. He will fill the position left open after Howard Willis stepped down late last year.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- It is a unanimous yes for the new fire chief in Augusta.
News 12 was at the specially-called commission meeting where all agreed Christopher James was the right man for the job.
City Administrator Fred Russell recommended James for the job earlier this month. He will fill the position left open after Howard Willis stepped down late last year.
