Silver Bluff rebounds from early seson struggles
Six weeks ago, Silver Bluff was a football team left for dead. Three straight losses and having scored just 21 points. It could have gotten worse from there. But instead of folding the tents, they found themselves and are now a threat here deep in the class 2-A playoffs.

Petticoat Junction, SC--Six weeks ago, Silver Bluff was a football team left for dead. Three straight losses and having scored just 21 points. It could have gotten worse from there. But instead of folding the tents, they found themselves and are now a threat here deep in the class 2-A playoffs.

Despite having guys injured and missing, the team really came together. Coach Al Lown scraped his spread offense and went back to doing what the bluff does best, pound people. The spread offense was replaced by the old reliable wing "t" and boy has it paid off.

"Next week of practice after the Swansea game, we came out and were real physical that week and we went back to what we do the best here at Silver Bluff and that's run the wing "t" said coach Al Lown "You could see us get a little bit of confidence that week and it's been building every week now for seven weeks."

"I'd say it's more of a changed attitude" said Blake Robbins "Like everybody got more focused and wanted to win. We got tired of everybody talking about us at school and stuff, and we wanted to step up and be a Silver Bluff team."

Here's the amazing thing, Silver Bluff is starting just one senior on offense! That being quarterback Cordrea Tankersly. Heck, most of them are sophomores and freshmen and have proved their worth. Silver Bluff hosts Mullin tomorrow night.
