Aquinas takes personality of their coach

Augusta, Ga--It use to be when you had Aquinas on the schedule, it'd be a walk in the park. Football, was not a traditional power for the Irish. Oh how things have changed in the past few years. Now they're a contender.

And a serious one at that as Aquinas will take on Landmark Christian Friday night. A lot of it goes to coach Matt LeZotte. Now in his third year as head coach, LeZotte has made football relevant off Highland Ave. He's young, he's got lots of energy and his players have taken on his personality.

"I mean he's told us once before the players play like the coach's act" said senior Corey GoMillion "We definitely put a lot of emotion into the game."

"I take pride in what I do" said Matt LeZotte "I want them to take pride in what they do. We as coaches put a lot of time and effort into this and it means a lot to us. If we can get the same out of those guys, you can have a good team"

Sometimes you wonder if Lezotte will put on the pads himself. For the first time ever, the Irish are into the third round and will host on Friday. They actually played Landmark Christian to start the season, losing a 10-8 ballgame on the road. Don't count 'em out this time around.
